The Sign of Big Things to Come

August 30, 2007 Thursday

Within several weeks, work is expected to be finished on a roundabout on Sand Creek Road at the northern entrance to Colonie Center.

The opening of the roundabout, paid for by mall owner Feldman mall Properties Inc., is expected to coincide with the debut of the new L.L. Bean store at the mall Sept. 14.

Colonie Center officials met with the town Planning Board Tuesday night to let them know the roundabout construction was on schedule.

Here are the other planned opening dates for new tenants at the mall:

  • Oct. 8: P.F. Chang's China Bistro
  • Nov. 14: Barnes & Noble (the store will move from across Wolf Road)
  • Early December: 14-screen Regal Cinema

Feldman acquired Colonie Center in 2005 and targeted it for major upgrades, including adding a third story for the movie theater.

By the time all the work is completed, Feldman will have spent about $70 million on the renovations.
